In the evening the sight of Ganga Aarti held at Dashashwamedh Ghat is amazing The light of thousands of lamps the echo of mantras and the devotion of devotees create a divine atmosphere After the aarti the light of the diyas floating in the Ganga seems as if the stars of the sky have descended on earth


 Walking through the narrow lanes you will come across ancient temples and monasteries The huge campus of Banaras Hindu University is an important centre of knowledge The lassi paan and Banarasi saris attract everyone



Varanasi is not just a city it is an experience It is a place to understand the cycle of life and death Every moment every scene here tells a story It is a place where the soul finds peace and the mind sees the path to salvation The flame of pyres burning on the banks of the Ganga makes one realize the transience of life And the Ganga Aarti that takes place every evening is a symbol of the eternity of life
